Finger-jointed timber
Finger-jointed products supply two main market segments. Structural wood products are produced with the joints designed to have high tensile strengths. Finger-jointing provides a greater degree of stability than single, large dimension lumber pieces which can in certain circumstances be prone to distortion.

PRESENTACIÓN
La información y el conocimiento acerca de las tendencias de cambio y la situación actual del medio ambiente y los recursos naturales del país, las presiones que los amenazan y las respuestas institucionales que atienden su problemática, son fundamentales para la toma de decisiones en la gestión ambiental. Por ello, y de acuerdo con lo que estipula la Ley General del Equilibrio Ecológico y la Protección al Ambiente (LGEEPA), la Semarnat desarrolla y mantiene el Sistema Nacional de Información Ambiental y de Recursos Naturales (SNIARN), cuyos objetivos principales son servir como base para la formulación de políticas y programas de manejo y conservación ambiental; incorporar los temas ambientales a la toma de decisiones y contribuir a que la sociedad esté informada sobre el estado del ambiente y los recursos naturales.
El SNIARN integra información estadistica y geográfica relativa a los inventarios de recursos naturales, calidad del aire, agua, suelo, biodiversidad, ordenamiento ecológico y, en general, a los registros, programas y acciones encaminadas a la protección del equilibrio ecológico y el ambiente. En particular, la base de datos estadísticos del SNIARN (BADESNIARN) integra la información estadística que, sobre estos temas, es generada por las distintas áreas dentro y fuera de la Semarnat. La

Clases de madera
La madera es un material empleado en la construcción desde la antigüedad. Su aspecto es de gran importancia en la decoración, ya sea como revestimiento o para la fabricación de muebles.
Sus principales propiedades son la resistencia, la dureza, la rigidez y la densidad, es fácil de trabajar y posee cualidades acústicas y térmicas. Entre sus desventajas se encuentran: la combustibilidad, la putrefacción y la inestabilidad volumétrica.
Las maderas y sus subproductos se distinguen de acuerdo al uso, las aplicaciones, la calidad, el tamaño.
De acuerdo al uso tenemos las maderas macizas, que son aquellas extraídas del tronco del árbol; y los aglomerados que están constituidos por viruta del material sometida a un proceso industrial.
Las maderas macizas son sometidas a un proceso de secado para que pierdan humedad. Estas maderas tienen gran resistencia y con ellas pueden fabricarse listones (prismas de gran largo y sección cuadrada o rectangular), tableros macizos, chapas y láminas, molduras o perfiles, tableros contrachapados (chapas formadas por láminas finas superpuestas, perpendiculares entre

ELCD core database version II
The ELCD core database comprises Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) data from front-running EU-level business associations and other sources for key materials, energy carriers, transport, and waste management. Focus is laid on data quality, consistency, and applicability. The respective data sets are officially provided and approved by the named industry association; some data sets are still under preparation and will be added subsequently.
The target users of these data sets are experts/practitioners in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). The data sets are accessible free of charge and without access or use restrictions for all LCA practitioners. The ELCD II includes data sets that have not been published beforehand and data sets that were only collected for this purpose. The data sets of the ELCD database are foreseen to contribute key European data to the upcoming international ILCD Data Network and in complementation of other data sources, i.e. not in competition.
Disclaimer: Please note that so far mostly only internally reviewed and only partly harmonised LCI data sets are provided in this second version of the ELCD core database. All process data sets are in line with ISO 14040 and 14044 as stated by their owners/providers, but are not to be considered as official reference data sets of the European Commission or its JRC. The data sets are provided «as they are». A further methodological harmonisation and independent external review are foreseen. Please also refer to the «Important legal notice» on top of this page.
